I just downloaded cmud and have begun using the mapping feature. It's beginning to make some sense after playing with it a while, but now I've hit a snag. In the zone in currently working on, Rome, it's recording the exits in place of the room name, and not recording the room description at all. I can get around this by manually entering all the text myself, but it's rather tedious. Anyone have some advice?

been a while, but if I recall correctly, it's probably because you auto configured CMUD's mapper outside of Rome. Again, been a while, but I seem to recall that Rome's descrips were different than most of the rest of the mud in terms of layout/spacing (i.e. there might not be a blank line between the room name and the room descrip, or vice versa) which is causing CMUD's mapper to parse the info incorrectly. Rome isn't the only zone that's like that from what I recall. You can either manually update your map and exits, or you can reconfigure the mapper inside of Rome so that it parses correctly, although you'd have to reconfigure it again once you leave Rome as stepping outside of Rome while automapping will likely malfunction and create weird rooms.
TLDR: not every zone has the same description layout as one another. Automapper needs to be reconfigured whenever the layout changes.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. .. hadn't even thought of that Edit: that totally did the trick! Back to mapping, thanks so much!
