Guys its not the game per-se, its the router ahead of it. Although I believe this machine also takes care of the DNS lookups for the game also.

It basically dies after hop 14, which tells me either router issue, or firewall issue atm.

Anybody heard a status update on what the situation is? Are we looking at some failed hardware on a server that hosts DNS for the jedimud.com domain and/or the mud itself or at some sort of network equipment outage? Is there an estimate for when things will be back? Just my luck that I take a few days off to relax and mud and we have a big outage

It is down. I have notified all parties. My DNS server cannot resolve it now. Meaning the DNS record is stale until the box starts to respond again.
I will try to put the test port up for people to play around.

While the game is down, I got out my personalized Gygax DM cardboard partition painted like a medieval castle wall, my coffee-stained graph paper and some polyhedral dice. I then forced my four kids to roll two player-characters apiece, and threatened them with early bedtimes should they break character and forget to speak in an Elizabethan patios.
Before we could begin, I got out my mostly unpainted pewter figurines and showed everyone how to paint details on orcs and magic users with a three-hair brush.
When the papier mache dungeon props were baked hard in our double ovens, we set out to retrieve the Amulet of Agamotto from the Goblin Caves, losing most of our party to giant spiders, wargs and the evil Shargugh, Master of the Forest Deep.
We took a break after reaching the third cave room (the Trapper was successfully avoided) and drank beer and ate Domino's pizza until two of us passed out.
The joy of D&D.

Jonesing for some mud?
I'm taking the edge off of my craving by watching some Tripod Versus the Dragon. They managed to write an ode to my love of JediMud and my years here. It also helps explain why Blues was born to be a bard...
If all you leave me is bones, I will sing bones. If all you leave me is dust, I will sing dust. If everything I have loved is taken away, I will still play. I will still play.
I won't sing the course of the rivers or sing up the stones. You won't still be humming my tunes by the time you get home. I know we all go back to dirt at the end of the day. I will still play. I will still play. You can do what you want anyway.
It's cold in the land of dead and the rivers are slow. They're shuffling off to their end and they don't even know. But up there they've also forgot it's all going grey. I will still play. I will still play.
Laugh at me; that's nothing new. It was always that way. Change all the rules to the game from what they were in my day. I will still play. I will still play. I will still play.
