Not sure at all. However, I am a huge history fan, and the pass at thermopylae sounds very intriguing. I would put it past Anton and see what he says.. .I am all for it, lets block out the sun!

Atlantis could be very large zone, with all kinds of levels. The bottle could be the same, and would not have to follow any rules 'but 'magic' limits' (which are ....?) The gates well that would be a large slaughter fest, with a LOT of aggressive mobs. Would both sides be evil? (the Spartans were slavers and made a living by war on others.) The Persians pretty much the same. Which would make it a paladin paradise (except no undead to turn!) However all that being said, I think it would be one most people would enjoy and recognize. Nice choices.

i am looking at going with a mix of historic events and some things from the movie...i am looking at the Spartans as neutral and the Persians as evil...here are some thoughts of how i am gunna do this...please give me some feedback:
1. There will be 300 Spartans (plus Leonidas, so 301), but i am not going to do all of the other Spartan allies
2. There will be a LOT of Persians, but they will not be very tough, except for the Immortals, who still will be easy compared to the Spartans
3. IF you get past the Spartans, then you can go 'sack' the city. Most of the mobs there will prolly be pretty easy (politicians, philosophers, wives, etc)(please note the word 'MOST')
4. I have not really started looking at eq ideas....open to suggestions!!
5. I have a few cool little ideas on how to make the zone very challenging, but i am not going to share all of my ideas in public...that would take all the fun out of it!!!!
So, please, if you have ANY suggestions, email me at tarbal2003@yahoo.com, post it here or just message me here

I was considering the Jedimud Wax museum, wax statues of mobs from the game/famous people from history. Would automatically load replica items on them 99% of the time and then sometimes load the real item instead of the replica. I havn't submitted the idea to the admin yet...wanted to get some feedback first.

I love this idea...don't think it's new but no harm trying again.

For a medieval MUD we sure have a lot of ancient areas. How about some more elves and such? or maybe even some (dramatic pause) Jedi! *blink*

I've mentioned this idea before of maybe revisiting 'stock / generic' zones that were added to Jedi and either finishing them and / or improving them. A prime example would be Moria and the Dwarven Kingdoms. I think that both have so much potential (without necessarily plagiarizing Tolkein, or the Peter Jackson trilogy) and both are unfinished to an extent.
I think a 'refresh' of some of the older 'stock' zones might have some mileage in terms of providing them with a thematic narrative, and tying them in more strongly to the local area and to existing 'lore', such that it is e.g. Dank's favourite 'Ofcal' - possibly the most pointless zone in it's current state.
Stock zones: Arctic Empire Enfan City Moria Ofcal
Unfinished zone(s): Shadow Rift
I realise that there is an implicit act of volunteering within this post; hence why I shall spend some playing time exploring these zones (maybe not Shadow Rift, right off the bat ;)) and the surrounding areas, to think of ideas and a narrative to develop.
From memory, I think that Arizhel had ideas for Moria (*nudge *nudge*), so I'll put up my hand to look at Ofcal, once I've finished my Chinese homework creating a Powerpoint presentation to present on the differences between Chinese and Japanese women (I'm currently studying Chinese 1-2-1 in China).
Cheers!
Edit: I've explored a fair bit of the Northern Plains and Ofcal. Whilst I have yet to unravel the secrets of the Stones of G'Harne (spelling), Ofcal is worse than I actually remembered!
