The loads have been tested. The assembly has been tested. The water has been tested. Amoli's ladies have been tested. All that remains is to test out the mobs. We should be on schedule for getting this quest launched. Be sure to thank Alecia, if you see her, for putting together the quest.

Through the misty air of night you hear a cackling in the background. "What is this", you think to yourself? As you ponder the thought you feel your stomach churn. You go to the kitchen cabinet and pull out a slice of pie. Your hands start to shake and before you know it, you've devoured it whole!
The tension in your mind begins to boil. You grit your teeth and soon anger encompasses you! How could you finish the whole thing?! You feel fat, bloated and uneasy! You want to go outside and work off this off. You must be 100 lbs heavier! Time slows down, however, as you run towards your shoes. The run becomes a walk. The walk becomes a crawl and soon, you're not moving at all. You're just too tired. You are just too lazy and just don't feel like it anymore.
You struggle, but you finally move from that spot hours later. It is now morning. You drag yourself to the front porch, hoping for any sort of assistance. As you make it to the edge of the steps, you see a woman jogging. How beautiful she is! The rays of the sun shine down on her as though she were an angel. She moves along as though she's in slow motion.
With each bounce and each stride, you want her. You need her. You will have her one way or another! You will embrace her and she -will- desire you in return! And why shouldn't she? You are magnificent. You are God's personal gift to all of humanity. It is you who should be dictating how people will live their lives! You want this control and you shall have it! You will control everything!
Then reality sets back in. This is all a fantasy. It's all a dream. Your really do wish you were something more than an unemployed, ex-McDonald's cook, living at home with mom, in Podunk West Virginia. You really REALLY wish you were a someone. Oh how the world would be grand.
Just then you realize something. That pie had been sitting in the fridge for about the last 2 months! Oh my. No wonder you feel horrible. Next time you'll be smart and put some sort of date on your left-overs. Maybe then you won't have to experience the 7 deadly sins.

Duration of the quest: 10 days Amount of constructable items: 7 Keywords: halloween1 through halloween7 Mobs: All verified to be killable. Bags: Read them.. the message is self-explanatory > Also note, some mobs are harder than others. Prepare accordingly. One more thing... stashing non-control items does -absolutely nothing- but prevent others from loading. So, please don't feel that the quest can be tricked in any way, to that regard. I've set all the loads up so that they're independent of one another. -Tam

VERY VERY poor quest planning. Pride is way too tough to deal with. It needed to be toned down big time. No consideration for soloing, nor is there any consideration for big groups. All groups that are currently occupied are very tight, and restrictive from other people. I've been asking and telling people all day/night that I'm available for group, and I get rebuffed. Even one group I participated was disbanded shortly because someone screwed up on the grapple.
Again, poor quest planning.
Therefore, it has my seal of boycott.

Hrm. Let's see. There was 5 months of planning with multiple tweaks back and forth for both the mobs and the items. -At least- 4 mobs are confirmed to be perfectly solo-killable with all others confirmed to require 4 people or less.
I'm not sure this is so much of a "poorly planned" complaint as it is a complaint due to the frustration of not being able to compete. Maybe its an attitude issue, maybe it's a clan issue or maybe it's a skill issue. I really don't know.
All I know is that with every drop quest, there are complaints about one thing or another and I'm used to it by now. A vast majority of the players, while fully admitting that some of the mobs are difficult and fully admitting that they may like "elf-style" quests better, have been perfectly fine about this quest. It has gone off with less hitches than many of the recent ones and I'm thankful to see that.
So, if you like it, cool. If you don't you're welcome to sit out and let everyone else enjoy it. If even one person out there enjoys the quest, I look at the quest as a success.

Constructive criticism is welcomed. Player input -is- taken into account when putting these quests together. For example, there won't be any more super-huge mobs like from the Easter quest, because of input received from players that played in it. However, I have to admit that the second I read "poor quest planning," especially this early on in the quest, I pretty much tuned out this post entirely. It's one thing to offer your opinion on how to improve things. It's another completely to simply point and say: this sucks. That's not constructive. It's just someone frustrated trying to make us just as frustrated as they are. These quests take a lot of time and effort to put together, so being -nice- to the people that spend so much time on something for -your- benefit is appreciated.
Just a thought. In any case, I'm sorry you feel the way you do.

A few years ago on one of the quest - this was a very challenging but still a fun quest - that we had to kill a LOT of random mobs holding bags and killing them.
In fact, I have an idea for the quest on one of the holiday quests, and just need to know the next holiday quest that is not currently "reserved" to try out my idea - I'll even sit it out just to see how much of a success it is. I'm not even sure that was ever done, but now that one of the procs that the mobs have is currently working, I'd like to try the idea.
However, I participated a little bit on the quest, and will continue to do so, just not 'catching it' in time.
I can confirm that Pride is killable, but it is proving to be a challenge.

I'm going to take Slappy's first post with a grain of salt. I've grouped with him as well as been playing when he's been on and have decided its not the quest.. its the player. It's nothing against you, but you did dig your grave with a lot of the players.
I'm well aware that Pride is hard. I made her that way. Would it be nearly as much fun if I just handed the pieces to you as a gift? No. If every mob had 1hp that's exactly what it would be. It's a game and its suppose to be fun. That's the idea of a quest.
I put a lot of hours into it, as did Tam, K, Arie and Ciara. Tam and I bounced around ideas for months trying to get things perfect to what I wanted and what would be logical for the players.
I'm quite impressed with the turnout of the quest, and its only day 2.

I can now say with authority, Pride is definetely killable with the right group... and you don't even need pets...

I said that "with authority" the first day of the quest whenever I told the entire mud that Arizhel and I each played 2 characters and killed the mob. On top of that, I'd say that the 4 players who killed pride (without pets, as well) also laid down the claim "with authority".
Seriously. Before anyone goes around damning quest-creators for impossible mobs and unsurmountable odds, they should -always- think out of the box, try multiple times, try multiple techniques and really do some homework. That's the only way anyone ever becomes a better player. The 4 people who killed it first did this. Everyone else is capable of it too.
So, please try not to witch hunt as a knee-jerk reaction to poor preparation, impatience or whatever caused the complications the first time around. All it does is cause irritation and bad feelings. Instead, look at the mob as a puzzle, plug away at it, then sit back in a nice fit of satisfaction and say "I killed it".

But then I try to be a nice and unselfish person who helps others when they ask. I think what you need most is a good mirror. Reading "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge and really doing that would help. If you are somebody people want around, you have no end of help. This works in real life as well as jedi life. P.S. I know this will sound bad, but an insult/direct attack usually just makes people mad, they stop listening.

Greetings questors, Well, we're closing in on the final days of the quest. It is a bit odd to be saying that, since there are still 3 days left! Still, the final days! You will noticed a bit of a decrease in some of the mobs. No offense, but none of us saw any way around it. We tried a higher amount of mobs the first days and there were a bunch of complaints. We toned it back a bit and there were a bunch of complaints about that. So we dialed it up again and ran into problems because some of the mobs weren't being killed and people weren't junking their bags. Thus, the bag's max limit was being hit and it was causing odd bag formations. IE: "I found 10 items in a bag". So unfortunately because the mobs weren't being killed fast enough and because of the lack of junking bags, we were forced to dial it back down a bit. The good thing is that this does not affect the probability of controls loading. What does this mean? Well... it means that there are still going to be hundreds of mobs floating about at any given time. It may just not be the mob you exclusively hunt. Try to keep in mind, there are 7 mobs out there to be killed and that they can pop up in roughly 1 out of every 10 rooms on the mud. So hunt well and contemplate a plan of attack. For those not interested in killing the big mobs, I've been told by a few people that all of the others are "perfectly soloable". So you should still be able to solo if you don't want to play with the others. Ok, all of that being said... this should probably be the final announcement. As a closing to the quest, (which will end as late as possible the 10th or early the 11th) we're having a little costume contest. Basically you get to dress up as the sin of your choice. People will take a guess at your sin and a panel of judges will choose the winners. The winners have the potential to win everything from minor quest pieces, all the way up through some control parts. So, it could be beneficial to take part in this festive event. The potential time for this will be on the evening of the 10th. I do need confirmation from Alecia on that, however. It's her quest, after all. Anyhow, I think that's it for now. Happy hunting. -Tam

I will have to say, that this quest was hard. Not impossible and I agree with Tam that some tweaking needed to be done. I think the prides was pretty insane and you needed some serious pipehitters a ninja and some clerics to take them down. and alot of time(s) they didnt load anything of worth ( no control, no invite, no doll or knife or cauldron) I guess luck of the draw.
The other thing I saw that was a little peculiar is the number of wraths I have killed ( prolly over 150) and all they ever loaded with ballons, which was odd at best, I got better loads on sloths, envy, lust and gluttony and the occasion greed which means something in my opinion ( I can be wrong here folks) wasnt right with the equalness of having an item load on any of the 7 sins.
Other than that I think the items made was worth the running, it was well thought out with the theme ( 7 sins, nice idea) the mobs where hard ( especially greed without ranger, and wrath without slows and sloth without blindness, slows).
Look forward to either assisting in running next years halloween quest since its around my bday and it would be fun, and think we can only improve on the foundation of this one. I know not everything went right and alot didnt get to make anything, I guess I was one of the lucky ones but close to 60-80 hrs easy of running you figure you would get something.
Thanks again Tam and Isabella and whomever had a piece of this one, it was worth the time to have some fun with this one.

First thank you for the quest.
Over all I think the mobs were a very nice mix allowing for minature groups on Sloth/Wrath, Soloing on Envy/Lust/Gluttony, and Greed on Ranger.
Of course Pride was Pride.
Over all the only two tweaks were the mobs and Greed. I believe for the item Greed/Envy might should have been switched, and I agree mobs originally were way over, in future the large mob like pride being reduce would have left more mobs load. I could be wrong though never claimed to understand load limits.
Overall minus my luck being abosulety horrible for the hours I put in I really did enjoy the quest since I could solo and group when I choose too.
So again as always thank you for the time and effort put in and sorry if I complained to much, if it makes you feel better I complain a lot at work too so just not here =-).

The final tally on the items is thus: <used as light> Vanity Mirror (1) (Pride) +3 damroll, perma bless, minlevel 20 <worn on wrist> a Currency Band (4) (Greed) +10hp, +5hpregen, minlevel 0 <worn about body> Aura of Hostility (3) (Wrath) +1 damroll, perma invis, minlevel 0 <worn around neck> the Food Chain (9) (Gluttony) +25 mana, +2 wis, minlevel 20 <wielded> a Crystal Black Rose (11) (Lust) 5d5 +1wis +10 mana, minlevel 15 <worn on arms> the Bracers YOU want (2) (Envy) +1damroll +1 charisma, minlevel 10 (There was a control item for this one in rent that evidently did not get used.) <used as light> a Lazy Eye (14) (Sloth) +10hpregen +30hp, minlevel 20 There were also numerous "gimmie" items -- the Voodoo Dolls (a wand of fly), black cauldrons (a drink container) and pumpkin carving knives (a decent newbie weapon). Thanks for playing, folks, and congratz to everyone that made/won items. Hope you had fun! Stay tuned for details on the next round of holiday-themed madness and mayhem in this thread!

Thanks to all and everyone for this quest. Was a good mix of mobs and made you think on tackling each and probably took a good 3-4 days into the quest before I did but I am just plain dumb.
Even got my bards/cleric killed a few killing Envy with spells and forgotting they reflect.
Thanks to Alecia, Tam, Arie, Ciara and Kailyn...and anyone else who was involved. I know a lot of time, and commitment into the work you guys put in. Very much appreciated.
Now it's time for a good sleep and pampering my wife (been ignoring her).....over 10 days I probably slept only 50-60 hours. Putting in at least 8-10 hours on weekdays and 18-20 hours on weekends but had tons of fun and some set backs but that's all part of the game.
Thanks again, Rox
