Alright. It's the day after Easter. I know this. I had originally planned on getting the quest started today (on account of Easter being so damn early this year and not wanting the quest to be running on the day itself), but have been interfered with several times. The first was an extremely nasty cold that took me out of commission for a week and a half, effectively reducing me to 'duh, numbers?' status and basically staring blankly at the zone file when I tried to work on it. Now, after as much busting tail as I've had time for between work and other commitments, I was planning on testing today and tomorrow, but with the game down... arg. It's coming, though. It's coming soon. Worry not. It's very nearly done. When schedules sync up and mobs stop having blank descriptions, it'll be time to chase rabbits!
Be afraid. Be very afraid. Some of them bite. Hard.

Sweet! It's Wabbit Season! "But they have big teeth and" Sir Robin, "I soiled my armor for nothing." Start gathering your holy hand grenades...well as soon as we are up again.

So! After much cursing and tweaking, we're about ready to go. And thus: Alien Invasion! Mutant alien rabbits are invading JediMUD! Hot on their (extremely ugly) heels come a bevy of suit-clad bunnies from a government agency so secret that it has no name. They're armed with their wits and their technology, but the alien menace is more than a match for that with fang and claw alone. Some of them are rather cute and cuddly, but some are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I cannot emphasize this enough! In any case, this is where you come in, my dear denizens of JediMUD - stave off the aliens, and keep the stiffs in suits from erasing too many people's memories, would ya? Based on intercepted intelligence reports (we had a Dark Jedi do a little bit of 'interrogation', cough cough), we expect the first aliens to begin arriving around noon on Friday.

Alright, so you've probably noticed there's lots of little rabbits in suits running around. Where are the aliens? They're a little harder to find. But they're out there, trust me! In any case, you'll want the keywords for the quest items, I'm sure, so here we go. It shouldn't be a big surprise now... make easter_one make easter_two make easter_three make easter_four make easter_five They should all be makeable by any class, any level. As usual, report any problems with items, either via mudmail or email. Before you ask, rare parts not loading is not a problem with items. -Ariz

I'm sure you've noticed by now that there's lots of little eggs as quest parts this year, instead of the usual parts that make sense to make into things. I thought I'd have a little fun with y'all. Anyhow, obviously, this means that objects from the same set of parts are used to make all the items. Keep this in mind. The one item that's special among all of them is the golden egg. If you find these, you'll want to hang onto them. I'll be doing some fun stuff with them when we get more of them out there, so stay tuned!

Alright. So! I promised more information. Golden eggs are fairly rare, as I'm sure you all have noticed thus far. I'm not telling you here whether or not they're actually a part to any item. What I am telling you, however, is that aside from any quest part usability they may or may not have, they will be able to be used as currency in an auction or game of sorts, once I have some more of them in the game. Rather like the pennies in the halloween quest, but a little tougher to obtain. Enjoy, kiddies! I'll announce when it'll be. As a side note, a tentative guess for the end of the quest is the 21st, but I need to consult with Ciara to see when she's available to remove the files.

So. I was hoping there'd be more golden eggs out there by now, with the end of the quest looming close. I've decided to remedy this myself! I've hidden an undisclosed number of them on the mud. They can be anywhere, so keep your eyes open. If hidden on mobs, they'll be in a quest bag that I'll expect you to be nice and junk. Each golden egg you have can be used to pick one of a set of three bags, each of which have items in them. Or you can hang onto it and see if you can use it to make anything fun. Your choice. I'm going to be running this at 8pm tomorrow night. If you have one, and you -can't- make it tomorrow at 8pm, let me know. I understand it's short notice.

So if the game comes up is the golden egg shindig still going down tonight? Or will it be postponed because of the downtime?

Alright. Since the game was borked for a day and a half or so, we're extending the quest till Wednesday around noonish. This is a happy thing. I've replaced the golden eggs throughout the realm. The new date for the golden egg fun is Tuesday, around 8pm. If you can't make this date, then let me know and we'll arrange something.

Don't forget, kids, the quest ends today at noon. That means you'll want to have all the items constructed by then.

Final results for the quest: All of the items were minlevel 0, usable by any class. easter_one: An Easter basket. This is a portable ATM and a +3 +3 holdable. 3 of these were made. easter_two: An Easter basket. This is a device that loads food items, and a +3 +3 holdable. 4 of these were made. easter_three: A crisp, black suit jacket. This is a +1dam +10mvregen on body armor, 36ac. 12 of these were made. easter_four: A pair of no-nonsense shades. This is a +1dam +10mvregen on head armor, 8ac. 16 of these were made. easter_five: Computerized Reflector Shield System. This is a +10mregen +10hpregen shield armor, 15 ac. 10 of these were made. For the record, not all of the rare parts only loaded on large mobs -- in fact, the only one that -did- load solely on them was the golden egg. Very few of the remaining rares actually loaded this way. Small mobs, in fact, loaded the rare parts more frequently than the large ones did.
