The final tallies for the objects, and the parts required to make them, are as follows:
An enormous fruitcake (shield, 1dam 20ac, no rests, ml0)-- 18 A large jar of candied fruits A pint of fine brandy A packet of pecans A 5-lb. bag of flour
A pair of warm mittens (hands, 10mregen 15mana, no rests, ml 0)-- 8 A ball of pale blue yarn A pair of white tassels A winter wolf pelt A pair of knitting needles
A mistletoe amulet (neck, 10mregen 5hpregen, ml 0, no rests) -- 31 A sprig of mistletoe A skein of golden ribbon A loop of fine golden wire A handful of tiny beads
A bracelet of holly and ivy leaves (wrist, 2dam perm aid, no rests, ml 0) -- 13 A sprig of fresh ivy A sprig of fresh holly A handful of tiny golden bells A yard of red ribbon
Some of the items had stats, and were subsequently left in the game, so anyone who found the skein of golden ribbon, winter wolf pelt, white tassels, bag of flour, loop of wire, yard of red ribbon, will get to keep those even if they didn't assemble the finished items.
The final numbers are actually higher than I projected, so people got a little lucky. But I think everything went well considering it was, in essence, one big experiment.
I hope the majority of people enjoyed the quest, difficulties going down the home stretch aside. I had fun putting this together, and I'm glad so many people had fun running it. Congratulations to everyone who found and/or made items during this festival.
Now go spend Christmas with your families. Be well, be safe, and have a happy holiday!

Didn't get the chance to participate really, but from what I hear it was a pretty good quest. Well done Arie. :-)

Believe it not I actually found the formula for this quest to be superb, best I've seen since the trick or treat mobs were roaming the game for halloween years back. Especially not sticking to that highly limiting formula of 12 small items, 6 mediums and 3 rares. Far more people had very good odds of finding items and in fact did amazingly well given those totals. Not to mention the items are of very high quality and do well to add a little more balance between alignments considering the mountain of amulets made.
So take it as you will but thank you for your hard work and efforts spent developing the ideas, mobs and items.

The quest was amazing and the format was damn near perfect. I loved the fact that items could be found anywhere with equal chance, even in the newbie zones. There could possible be improvements: 1) Different kinds of elves - Some being as hard as frosty was to promote more grouping. The groups for frosty were fun. The stronger elves should obviously have a higher chance of having the rarer items and a 0 CHANCE OF HAVING ANYTHING LIKE HOLLY!!! 2)The other mobs like Rudolph should have shown up more...I know some were scheduled to show up but I saw Rudolph once myself. 3)Maybe the elves should be !where and !track. May or may not make it too hard. 4)Should be tweaked to be a little less about luck and slightly more about skill. Dont know how but just suggesting. Anthony.

Ah yes. Mad props go out to Tam, for coming up with the original idea for this quest, and helping me with lots of things, from item stats to percentages. The estimations turned out to be a little off, but such is life, you know?
Thank you also to Kailyn, who was willing to bring up a test port for me to mess around on even when she was sick. Thank you also for being willing to try something completely new and different.
If you see one of these two, make sure you thank them. The quest wouldn't have happened without them. -Ariz

I, also would like to say thank you for the quest. I truly am sorry for the arguments that came up. Hopefully we can put such trivial things behind us all and move on. Anyway, the quest was superbly done! The writing on the descriptions of the pieces, items, and mobs was most excellent. The idea for the quest was also very nice, much nicer than running around scanning every single mob in the game for bags(maybe an empty one!). Thank you again Arizhel, Tam, and Kailyn. I hope that you all have a very merry Christmas. Best wishes, Antrus

No one said it, so I will.
The concept of the elves repopping was a great idea due to the fact that it saves a lot of admin times for having to "get on to do a drop" and probably made things a lot easier on you all as well.

First loved the quest format a lot more than hunting bags on random drops.
Here are my comments: 1)The loading of elves automatically huge plus over waiting for drops over and over, allows players to participate on there time frame instead of an immorts time frame, HUGE PLUS.
2)One drawback is and not sure it can be fixed, but more random regen in the zones on elves would be nice, some popped in same room every time so it was easy to kill those. Just a side thought if you can't fix it wasn't a huge deal at all, but would add some variety to the quest.
3)I think the quest defintely helped exploring I know I ran zones that I had never before ran or haven't in a very very long time to kill elves. So I defintely think that was a HUGE plus also.
Either way would love to see this be the permenant format I am sure there are other tweaks that need done.

Aneyou.. I'm going to beat you up with a wet towel!!!!
I think the quest format was just fine as it was, tiny elves for the chance at rare control pieces (which was the main quest) and bigger mobs for a chance at good usable items.
Believe it or not I did group on this quest with Frosty Bash 3 and Frosty Bash Fest 18. If it hadn't been for some people thinking only of themselves, I'm sure Frosty would have shown up more often to add merriness to the Holidays.
In any case, this was about having fun and I did have fun during the quest.
As for too many items being made, don't you think it was due to the hard work of the people staying on 24/7 to look for elves and not due to the % load? The way I see it, the people who put in the time and effort got their rewards, some were more lucky, some less, but in the end I believe everyone came out a winner.
One last thing (if the shoe fits...) : to the people who whined and accused Arizhel, Tam and various other people of cheating; you're full of fecal matters. Do you really think for an instant the ChIMPs involved in the quest didn't test the format extensively? Your unbased accusations are just insulting. Take a deep breath, come off your God complex and use your brain for a second before you start spewing bull.
To everyone else :
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Best wishes and goodwill for the Holidays and the coming year to all.
Pio.
