This is a repost of the information available via the "news" command and on the quest board in the game:
Many seasons ago, two very distinct parties in the Realms formed an alliance designed to boost their economies and promote tourism. Over time, however, shipping lanes changed, certain goods went out of fashion, and other unforeseen events causing that very profitable alliance to cease.
Now, the alliance has recently hired another group to refresh their image and to restore the former tourism profits. In the effort to once again create a thriving environment, a plan was devised that would cause travelers to explore forgotten paths and discover lost
treasures. There will be several weeks of events put on by this newly re-formed tourism board running all through the period known as 'All Hallows Eve'.
In addition, due to the many years of hardship, these events will be heralded and funded by a raffle in which three individuals will have a chance to choose between tricks or treats!
Details of the Halloween Quest
There are multiple components to this year's Halloween Quest. The biggest being an assembly quest. Pieces for the assembly will be garnered in the following events.
- a scavenger hunt. Details on this will be forthcoming.
- several AVTR led quests. No, you will not know ahead of time if the quest you are participating in will have a quest piece as a prize. Trick or Treat
- a raffle -- Will you be the recipient of a completed assembly item? Will you receive a 'trick' instead? Buy your tickets today. There will be *3* individual winners.
- various drops scattered during the several week time period. Drops will be announced.
Many thanks for the 2005 Halloween Quest to Hurin who has designed it.
The raffle is open now. Tickets are 250k each, see "help raffle" for details on purchasing.
The other events will be held over the next several weeks. The raffle drawing will be held on October 31st, time: tbd.
The official end to the quest will be November 5th, 2005.
