It's been discussed during the class review meetings, but only in passing really, as we're trying to do things in some semblance of order. I'd like to see it too, personally.

I like the idea as well. Some of the random, absurd, psychosis-invoked ideas that I've had for items have included this, like Grond casting earthquake, Gurtholfin casting drain energy, and the sword of the Angel of Death casting, of course, Word of Death. Ya know, random, absurd, psychosis-invoked ideas that aren't likely to ever be allowed

Erm, a weapon that randomly casted earthquake could suck. It sounds like a tool for Sohei to commit ritual suicide or something. That would be a weapon -not- to wield while fighting Augustus, Quagar, Ahmad, etc.

Anyway, some magical weapons would be imbued with reaction rolls. If it didn't like you or those around you (factoring alignment and charisma), it might do something unexpected. Like leap out of your scabbard and impale the interloper.

Weapons with procedures make the game more in depth and allow a weapon to have use outside the regular whats its average/max dice, as well as giving magic to the magicless... ohh sexy.

I for one enjoy entertaining the idea of weapon procs. Of course I have to add that it would be preferred that there be instated a way to control what weapon has what effect. This form of control in the way of insetting a weapon which requires loading another item, or say having one character class adding an effect via powerful spells at level 30.
