My thoughts this, story integration and flexibility contributes significantly to re-playability apart from the core game. Here are my thoughts of such contribution even though may be a bit to digest from a coding aspect. To me the mud still has a lot of potential. Are DG scripts in for online building yet?
Newbies : With the integration of DG scripts for online building, there is ample room to create automated newbie greeters to teach about the game when one makes a new character. This would be in our best interest to be skipable for those who need no tutorial. If no one is spearheading this opportunity I am interested to build such an area and scripts that could teach about MC's (see Midi-Chlorians below).
Gold coins : Convert the 'gold coin' standard to 'Gold Credits.'
Quest Tokens : Convert 'quest token' standard to 'Jedi Tokens' so it is not so easily confused with the upcoming 'Quest Points' for completing quests at quest masters.
Midi-Chlorians : A dynamic MC (midi-chlorian) system proposal :
What is MC is star wars lore? intelligent microscopic life forms that lived symbiotically inside the cells of all living things.
What is MC to JediMUD? A system designed to create multiple bonus incentives for killing a lot of mobs each session, avoiding renting for a player swap, and refraining from inactivity.
The idea is everyone regardless of class can absorb MC's from foes that is at the player's level or higher.
Mobile level equals the MC gain that the player would receive for killing it. Level 37 Statue of Obi-wan Kenobi will be a 37 count gain of MC for 1 player.
A mobile that is a lower level than the player will not contribute to MC gain.
Only the member who makes the killing blow will have the chance to absorb the MC for gain.
MC count ranges from 0 to 100 as a percent.
MC of 80 or higher results in statistical perks for battle for example an xp bonus of x1.5, a +5 bonus for damroll, and a +5 bonus for hitroll.
MC gains drop over time, I'm thinking a penalty of 5 MC loss per tick as blow-back for inactivity.
All MC gains will be reset to zero upon player death, rent, reboot etc.
MC count would be viewable in the player 'score', could be added to prompt options, and could be displayed after battle when you make any gains to total MC.
MC in SCORE :
Your Midi-Chlorian count has reached 55 percent.
Your Midi-Chlorian count has reached 85 percent, the Force is strong with you!
MC in PROMPT :
<412HP 142MP 146MV> '-29AC' {MC:85} XP:3225717 BANK:774200 923 10pm >
MC after BATTLE :
You absorb the Midi-Chlorians from your kill. {55}
You absorb the Midi-Chlorians from your kill, the Force is strong with you! {85}
also MC of 80+ in Room Description :
Wayne the Knight of the Garter is standing here.
...the Force is strong with him.
