Hi
I am actually a new player and am confused with how you distribute equipment.
I understand that some equipment is limited, but if say, the Giant Sword is limited to only three in the game only, and those three have been taken by people three years and are being rented, then how is a new player like me going to prosper from this
Deathtraps would be a way to re-distribute the equip, but they are disabled, and only of use if people are actually playing.
If equip is limited repop but unlimited amounts then that is fine.
But if it is distributed how I mentioned in my first paragraph, then that is going to put me off playing longer term because half the game is not there anymore.
Hopefully I have misunderstood, however, if it not set already, please make equip unlimited. Given very few people play anyway, and DTs are disable, it would be extraordinarily stupid to set it otherwise.
Or put limited equip back in the game after 30 days non use rent wise
I will carry on playing, but I would leave fairly quickly if this is the way the mud is set. It is archaic
thanks

Dizzy,
Good question and ill do my best to answer it correctly. If i have anything wrong others will surely correct me.
Equipment is based on several factors:
1- Some equipment (seems) to always be loaded like the Krrf (water container). It has no limits and there can be many in the game at a time.
2 - Some equipment loads only during special times during the game such as Quests (Halloween quest only items). Once the quest time is over the items no longer are obtainable, unless that quest is run again the next year.
3 - Some gear has load limits - Example: Philosophers stone has a limit of 3. So if 3 players have it in their inventory (AND** are currently logged in) the item will not load no matter how many times you kill the mob.
3 - Some equipment was removed from the game and replaced by items with the same name. Example of this is Plat Orb. Those items will never be loaded on a mob, but may come back around during a quest.
4 - There may be some specialty items like phasers which have a max limit in the game including storage.
---> What this means is most of the gear you are seaking will have a normal limit of 3 in game items. If you are working on resetting a mob to load a peice of gear you can always ask if ppl are using that item and most of us would be willing to log that item out while you are working on reset(s).
Hope this helps.

Just to follow up on what Destiny said, the vast majority of the equipment in the game does not have load limits that you will ever have to worry about. Load rates can be low (sometimes extremely low), but with few exceptions you will likely be able to work on loading whatever equipment you want whenever you're logged in.
There is one other aspect of loading gear that he didn't mention, and that is contingency loading. There are some items in the game that will only load--or will never load--if a *different* item is in the game. Not trying to give anything away, but there is a particular piece of waistwear that is very popular among clerics which will not load if another item that loads on the same mob already exists in the game. You could reset that mob for weeks and never get a belt if that other item is left in the game, but the minute you find and junk that other item, you'll be able to load the belt.
Something else to consider, too: during the normal course of your gameplay, you're certain to acquire plenty of gold. Gold is a nice thing to have, enough so that other players will frequently give you some of the equipment you desire in exchange for some of your gold. Some, like me, store up so much equipment that we'll often just give it away to you for free. If you need something, ask. If you want ideas of what to use, ask. If you want assistance in loading something, ask. Those of us who are still here are some of the most imbala--err, talented players in the game, so hooking up with someone to run some gear will help you out in many ways.
Oh, one last thing--I'm gleaning from your remarks that you think that DTs are disabled. Oh, how I wish that were true...but it is absolutely NOT the case. DTs are as active as ever, and they will absolutely relieve you of everything you have should you step into one.
