Several years ago, regen focal points were installed in a series of rooms around the mud. If you are a magic using class, you should be able to identify these rooms in their room desc (including brief).
A room can contain one or all of the following regen focal points:
Good
Neutral
Evil
After a point that TJ made regarding his inability of the Paladin class to see these focal descriptions (they should, but they don't), I did a test yesterday with Dank using a 100 mRegen kit to check regen rates between standard rooms and focal rooms.
Dank was full (food) when i conducted these tests. I did not do a full statistical sample (only 4 sample values). Dank was neutral at the time. The focal point I used was located in the Midgaard Temple.
His single tick average (mana) regen gains were as follows:
Standard room, standing: 82
Standard room, resting: 120
Standard room, sleeping: 218
Focal room, standing: 88
Focal room, resting: 121
Focal room, sleeping: 198
My understanding of the way regen rates work is this: Each class has a max possible recapture per beat (1 second) and each regen value (hp, mana, move) is rolled against to determine how much of that max value is recaptured. With 100 mRegen, I'm assuming that I'll get an overall average of 50% of my max recap per beat. (150 mRegen would give you 75% of your max possible).
Since the range of my data samples was very small, I fear that I'm not fully understanding how this works.
In any case, it seems that the focal points are not working. If this has been discussed previously, in another thread, pardon me.
