Yes, that's right. A thread just for you to suggest holiday-quest type assembly items. I won't guarantee that they'll get used by me (or that it'll be used in its pure form that is to say, they might be tweaked), or by anyone else that might happen to be masochistic dedicated enough to put one of these types of beasties together, but it'd be a nice reference source to have around, in any case. Plus, I'm sure you've all got all kinds of new ideas just simply bouncing around in your little brains.
So! Let's get to the catch. Let's keep the suggestions reasonable. Suggesting that we should have a +5damage +25mana constructible holdable may be a good way to give a good laugh to your friendly neighborhood administrator, but it's not a good way to make a lasting mark by getting an item into the game! Aaaaaanyway... have at it, my little mortlings!
EDIT - I've already been asked if suggesting theme, but not necessarily stats is okay too. Go ahead! Maybe the mere name of your item(s) will be enough to inspire one of us or another webboard user to come up with some stats to go with it.
Disclaimer: this thread in no way means that I intend to run x+1 assembly/holiday quests in the future. I might, I might not. I just thought this would be a good resource for those that do. ;D

A St. Valentine's Day QuestThere are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine's Day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine. The Quest Assembly Items: A Box of Chocolates +50mov %5mvR mL15 g! "The Ides of March" The ominous warning, "Beware the Ides of March," originated with the Roman ruler, Julius Caesar, who was assassinated on the Ides of March - March 15, 44 B.C.E. If you've heard the ominous warning, then it's most likely due to William Shakespeare and his play, Julius Caesar. The Ides of March Assembly Quest A Tunica Laticlavia (about) +15 mana +5%manaR !n !wtn Comprised of: A toga practextae (about) +1 wis +1 int !n An embroidered strophium (body) enchantable nobits A simple cotton subligaculum (legs) +1 str !msrb Some intricately wrought leather calcei (feet) +10mana +5mvR !rb A Pugio Dagger 4D7 +2dam +2dex tsn! e! Comprised of: A hilt of a golden alloy (trash) A spool of thin wrought-iron wire (trash) A Spanish steel blank (trash) An engraved seal of the state: "SPQR" (trash) More on the IDES of MARCH
The warning itself was made famous in Shakespeare's play on Julius Caesar, when an unidentified soothsayer tells Caesar, who is on his way to the Senate (and his death), "Beware the ides of March." Caesar replies, "He is a dreamer; let us leave him. Pass."
The Astrologer Spurinna
According to historical writer C.J.S. Thompson, Ph.D. in The Mystery and Romance of Astrology, 1929, the unidentified soothsayer from Shakespeare's play was a Roman astrologer by the name of Spurinna.
According to Thompson - and confirmed in Plutarch's account of the story written in 75 A.D. and Suetonius in 110 A.D. - it was sometime prior to the fateful day of March 15 that Spurinna had first given Caesar the famous warning to "beware of the Ides of March."
The astrologer, Spurinna, had previously warned Caesar that on "the Ides of March," he would be in great danger. If, however, Julius Caesar took care on that one day - then all would be well.
According to Plutarch's account, Caesar had previously made the wise decision to stay within the safety of his bedroom chambers on the 15th of March. However, Caesar's "friend" Decimus (Albinus) Brutus (not Marcus Brutus) managed to convince him that the astrologer's warnings were nothing more than superstitious foolishness.
So Julius Caesar decided to attend the Senate on the 15th of March. On his way to the Senate, Caesar "accidentally" met up with the astrologer. Upon seeing Spurinna, Caesar confidently informed the astrologer: "The Ides of March are come."
Spurinna replied, "Yes, they are come, but they are not past."
Later that day - on March 15, 44 B.C.E - Caesar's enemies assassinated him in the Pompey theater, at the foot of Pompey's statue, where the Roman Senate was meeting that day in the temple of Venus.

How about a witch's Halloween Quest based on famous witches
You of course have the Charmed One's
Piper's Freeze Power Fibi's Visions Paige's White Light
Wouldn't have to be limited
Those could be some weird items then some normal ones Black Cat Witch's Broom Bubbling Cauldron Werewolf Fur Masks or Costumes
Could also add in movie Stuff like the Craft, Witches of East Wick, sure there are others that I can't think of.
Just a thought, before you ask no I won't run a Halloween Assemble that is my FAVORITE Quest to participate in each year even if the items are horrible, if it is Halloween item I want IT!
What can I say I am a big kid at heart on Halloween, where Christmas is BAHUMBUG!!

Here is an idea for Halloween how about kill the images? The images could be that of other players.
So you would look image and see a description of say Kailyn, Feril, Roxii, Elveron, Tarbal, Beorn or something?
Would be fun to kill each other, with key word being images so you don't accidently try to kill the player.
Just a thought, Steven
