Feburary Pairs gauntlet results (11am 02/25/2005) Neglect/Gugaru, Wulfgar/Antrus, ASDI/Emir, Sherkan/LiquidShadow were the 4 pairs in this gauntlet. ASDI was wearing a questors mana belt (and therefore it was 'bet.') Emir specifically told me he was betting his questors mana lamp. They all took off rather quickly. LiquidShadow died fast in room one. But they elected to have him come back in and keep going (can't win, but good sports.) Wulfgar died fighting the Arizhel statue (she burns up mana if you do not watch things.) ASDI/Emir won this round, and ASDI got a questors mana lamp. Emir got a greater hitpoint lamp (+2damage,+10%hp regen.) Giant/Gugaru, Neglect/Yawolah, Those/Kinjo, Fiend/Antrus, and Air/Stef Only Those bet a "Questors" item (a questors hp lamp) Were the pairs entered today. At one point they were all in room three. However Those/Kinjo soon pulled ahead and eventually won.
Those got the Greator Hp lamp (+2damage,+10%hp regen, minlevel 0 no restrictions.) Kinjo picked a Questors HP Belt. (+10 to HIT, +5 to HIT_REGEN)

Atul/Nandito, Elixir/Emir, Elessar/Gold, Indiana/Fort(bet a questors belt 1st tier), FieldyWulfgar, Ventrue/Giant. Atul died in room 1 (Nandito never calmed) Gold, and Fort died in some of the later rooms. Elixir/Emir took the 1st place win, and were VERY careful to double check full kill in each room. Each chose the 1st questors mana belt.

Pairs Gauntlet was held per the post on the board. Fieldy/Wulfgar and Gold/Elixir were the only two pairs entered. It was a very close race, with the two groups entering room after room at either the same time, or only a second appart. Gold bet a "Questors Mana Belt(1st tier prize)" Elixir bet a "Greater Questors Mana Lamp (3rd tier prize)." Elixir and Gold finished with a full kill on their Emerald series of rooms. Fieldy and Wulfgar finished 18 seconds later. So Gold took home a "Questors Mana Lamp" for his risk and success. Elixir too hime a "Questors Wide Mana Belt" for his risk and success. The "Questors Wide Mana Belt" has the following stats. +8AC +10 to MANA, +1 to DAMROLL no other restructions. March 2006 pairs gauntlet Gold(betting mana belt)/Elixir(betting hp lamp) Daemon/Wulfgar, Alt/Suki, and Stee/Bijou (last minute entries) All quested. It was a very tight race, with Daemon/Wulfgar out in front through room 5, and then Gold/Elixir pulled barely ahead. Both drove on very very close together. With Gold/Elixir literally finishing only 2 seconds ahead of Daemon/Wulfgar. Both with full kills. So Gold takes a "questors mana lamp" and Elixir received the "greater questors hp lamp"

April 28th
The pairs gauntlet also saw 3 teams. Daemon/Wulfgar, Hikaru/Those (who decided that it was better to practice his 30th level stuff), and Hammah/Geronimo (both paladins), all bravely participated. The twin pallys ran into a little trouble after they dispached "Ninjas" (ninja turtles to be exact) and encountere d "Jedis". The other two teams progressed through the massive "ranger" room and into the "thief" room. Here Hikaru met his fate as he was jumped by the Imperial Assassin. After seeing his comrade fall and nearly falling asleep at the keyboard on several occassions, Those thought it best to just recall. Daemon and Wulfgar progressed into the "bard", "cleric", "paladin" and the
** hit return, R for refresh, B for back, Q for quit, or a page number (1/2) ** "warrior" rooms. Here they rested for their epic battle against the "mages". They dashed into the room and entered combat, where they barely dispatched Andrus! Ok.. they stomped on him. It was a trick or treater. *wink*

Elixir/Xon, Daemon/Hikaru, Bijou/Charlotte, and Lim (just Lim) ran. Elixir bet a Greater Hit Point Lamp (+2damage,+10%hp regen), and Xon bet a Mana Lamp (+1damage,+5%mana regen). Elixir/Xon started out running very fast, but eventually Daemon/Hikaru overtook and finished first. Lim was doing ok but could not take out Magie alone. After the confirm of the full kill, Daemon took the Questors HP belt, and Hikaru chose a Questors Mana Belt. Mob list follows ;D pairs gauntlet may 06

I think the prize structure (not the prizes themselves) need a revamp. I realize that the potential for getting the top items needed to be low, but after participating in the pairs for 24 of the past 27 or so months, here is where the imbalance lies: It takes YEARS literally to even have a chance at a top prize. The reason is because of the all-or-nothing betting system in place. There are TOO many variables which can cause you to loose it all and have to start over. Of course lag, competition, some poor luck with a particular mob going proc happy, or a simple mistake can be costly, but in PAIRS, you can actually WIN the pairs, but if you overstep one single mob, then you lost your bet. For instance, we did a quake, rescue, berserk in room 9 one time and two of the mobs (hidden) remained stunned. I realize that an additional quake would have taken care of the issue, but that smallish mistake cost a Greater Mana Lamp (3 months of work minimal) and eliminated a win towards a belt when our team had a 4 room lead. Another time, the mud was challenged to think out of the box and try a different class. We spent literally 20+ hours prepping a Ranger with some absolutely sick sets of Wis/Mana skins and stat/DMG skins. With no pzaring mobs and a shopkeeper in room one, we were utterly decimated by the usual W/C group. Having to switch from Mana to Dmg mode in room one to waste the shopkeeper cost us 2 stampedes (or 8 quakes) from the ranger and precious time. All in all I've lost 3 Greater Mana Lamps (to bets and DT's and it is frustrating to have such a vaunted gauntlet record with only a single good item to show for it. I'm SURE that those wishing to notch a few wins themselves are even MORE frustrated that I don't get out of their way once in a while so their odds are upped a little. Here is my proposal... 1) A win is a win. Here would be the criterion: 1st to finish and kill EVERY mob gets you the upgrade to the next item. Farthest fastest (without completion) is a 'win', but you do not get to upgrade, nor do you loose your bet. If you DO loose outright to another competitor on a bet, you only move down ONE tier. Just my thoughts!! My current gauntlet pairs record is something like 22-2.... Gambler

Jedi Pairs Gauntlet series for August 2006, non-remort Well the special restriction of no remorts, except bards and rangers who get 1 remort, was held. I was stuck on emergency calls from work all day and so started a bit late at 1642, instead of 1600 (sorry about that, got to make a living.) Richtiu/Junker were the first group, with Kakemix/DarthMaul being the second group. Both sides were eager to start, and after a quick setup they were off. They ran in, with Richtieu/Junker dieing first in room 3. Kakemix/Darthmaul took their time with the old cleric-regen/sleep while warrior hits (summon etc.) Eventually they finished with a full kill. Giant and Ventrue died last to a master of the mystic arts probably with some help from the third or fourth Mystic of the pagoda also. Elixir and No bet a first Hit point belt and a first mana lamp. Thanks to Ching for allowing me to run the gauntlets in February. I do not think room 8 was impossible. I think it was not approched right. Protection from evil on the warrior would have helped. and he probably should not have entered first or alone cause some of the mobs have memory. There was one neutral aggressive there, and also a nocalm mob that might have been a help.

Wulfgar/Aneyou, Ventrue/No, and Iron/JunkerII all ran in the Pairs. ;D Iron/JunkerII fell behind, running very safely. Wulfgar/Aneyou and Ventrue/No kept leap frogging. First one pair ahead, and then the other. *note* a clarification, to be the first group in a room, you have to be "in" the room, not just running in, and summoned out (scouting) it counts when you are toe to toe (fighting or not) in the same room. Nobody bet a "questors" item, so the prize was the 1st tier belt, +10mana,+5%mana regen. The winning pair were Ventrue/No. Both picked the mana belts. Next gauntlets both on Sunday April 29th at 2000 and 2130 "date" time Use the "Date" command to tell what time it is now, so you can count down. Post, results, and room/mob lists ***************** Normal rules apply. With the following mods. 1) you can have pets, but they can not use any items, EXCEPT potions. you can spell them up, but you can not equip them. 2) limit of total items is 150, so make them count. 3) to encourage 'speed' I will allow 1 death, but it counts as a 30second penalty. I will recall you, and leave you at the start for 30seconds, before you go back in. This is to encourage a bit of risk taking, but nothing fool hardy. Pairs, all normal rules, with the following mods. 1) I will unaffect everybody before we start, so you only get to spell up with whomever you are starting the quest with. After that, I will allow everybody to quaff 3 potions, you bring with you. THEN we start the race, with no potions left. 2) again, I may put a potion on a mob inside, use it wisely if I do. 3) this time, no shopkeepers, so you can get creative if you wish. Order will be the solo at 2000, and pairs at 2130. **************************************** Stee/Ventrue and PooTang/Glomund ran in the pairs gauntlet. Stee/Ventrue pulled out at first while PooTang kept worrying about being a C23 with only 400 mana. They were always behind until room 8, when they jumped ahead and eventually won. Stee/Ventrue had bad luck with the questbots. I wish there was a way for everybody to practice on those questbots. Pootang/Glomund each chose a mana belt (1st tier) to start a series with. May 07 pairs gauntlet. Giant(W30)/Ventrue(C30), Sypha(B30)/RobinHood(T30, Dank(C24)/Mobutu(M30), Elixir(C30)/No(W30). Dank was frozen out as Mobutu was a noshow (and Dank was mostly AFK.) It was a good run Giant/Ventrue and Elixir/No had a good steady run, with Elixir/No slightly ahead most rooms. Sypha/RobinHood did respectiably well. But it seems that there is nothing to beet a C30/W30 combo. Elixir bet a 1st tier mana Belt, and won the 2nd level Mana Lamp.

Ok briefly cause I'm going camping the night of the 3rd, the whole 4th, and morning of 5th. I'll edit this more later.
room 1 was mages pets plus Balor's domains elelemtals of air, water, fire, and earth.
room 2 was cleric pets room 3 was rangers pets room 4 had ranger guildmasters, patron saints of rangers and a welmar ranger room 5 had a droid bouncer, guardian droid, and honor guard all from star wars room 6 had the lich, a draolich from drow/desert, and dracclich from the abyss, and 5 drow maidens room 7 had King Minos from the Isle of Minos, King MInos from the underworld, Caesar, Yevaud, and drudgery room 8 which was very difficults had tisiphone, Formorian, the Hell guardian, Narre, Peist, and Nergi
room 9 had statues of Gods and me : Tam , Arizhel, Ching, and Air2D2 statue. It also had the Bards President Marco, and master of woodwinds Rabies.
Sim and Roarke finished the quest coming back from behind with some good grappling of Narre and fighting of the ranger Guildmasters.. Elchino and Arrakken did well but were entering room 8 when Sim and Roarke finished. Roarke picked a hit point and hit regen questor's belt. and Sim chose a mana and mana regen belt.

Alecia ( really drowloft) and Iron, Wulfgar and Dutchess ( probably arrived after 9PM, but was here at 11PM), and Sati and Qiu entered, Aisse could not find a partner. I probably should have let him enter solo, but he really needed to get to bed. The quests didn't start at 9PM so I waited till 10:30 and ran one. I didn't get to enter with Aisse though. I used mobs from Ching's August 2005 Pairs gauntlet, but added Arsenius to room 4. Everyone finished. Wulfgar and Dutchess finished first in about 30 minutes plus or minus. Wulfgar bet a hit point belt and won a hit point lamp. Dutchess won and chose a questor's mana belt. Iron and Alecia finished soon after, I awarded them magic mushrooms that started growing while I was waiting, Sati and Qiu stumbled in and finished about an hour after the start and I awarded them some stale popcorn.

Pairs October 2007 quest results Drowloft/Roarke, Deamon/No, Gugaru/Iron, Emphesys/Tanis 4 pairs quested. Emphesys/Tanis were C/B but because they were last minute entrants, they did not take in 10 canned. They all started out with one second of each other. Pairs No Warrior quest December 2007. Simba(R30)/Fieldy(C30) Tanner(C29)/Geronimo(P30) Xon(R30)/Elixir(C30) all entered into the December quest. Xon/Elixir pulled out to an early lead, maintained it, and finished first with a full kill win. Feb 2008 pairs gauntlet No Cleric, and No Warrior. Well I was tired and let me blood sugar get down to 58, so I was not thinking straight and thought I had only loaded a test into isle 1, when it was also in 2 and 3. I had to halt the quest (transferring people to room 2500 (the start.) and clearing out each isle down to what it should be. Antonio(P30)/Aphasia(T30), Jinks(R30)/Fakir(P30), Tony(P30)/Arby(R30) and Air(J30)/Roy(R28) all quested. Only Fakir bet something, he bet a Greater Questors HitPoint Lamp. In the first heat Jinks/Fakir raced tony/Arby very close. After the restart Antnio/Aphasia ran out ahead and finished first. They each picked a mana belt (1st tier prize.) Tony/Arby and Jinks/Fakir all finished with 3 seconds of each other, and because of the vagaries of the stop/restart, and who killed what, I just gave each of them a 'win' also. (It was my political solution of what to do after things got so messy.) So Fakir gave me his Greater Questors Hp Lamp I junked it and loaded him up a Questors Wide Hit Point Belt (AC 8, +1 damage,+10 hit points, no restrictions.) Next time I will have a good clean pairs gauntlet, and only the first finishing pair will win. I might get a sub if things are too much for me. Below are the mobs. Okay at first it was Guy(J)/Nikki(N) and RoxII(B)/Donn(C) and Jam(B)/Thadius(P) it however crashed and guy/nikki didnt compete the 2nd time due to Guy loosing link
The rules were a little different. Each time was allowed 2 freebees or mobs they did not have to kill. To ensure this happened (to prevent a mob from getting a key on the ground) I handed out all the keys in the begining.
Each team was also allowed 1 death however they would have to wait 3 minutes before they could go back in and continue. The other team member could continue to kill though.

Again lots of the mobs had the aggro flag removed. The duelist in room2 gave people the most trouble. Donn and RoxII both died to him and decided that Donn will take the resurrect and after 3minutes went back in.
Well hopefully it was a little different, it was my attempt at not restricting c/w yet making other classes have a better time of running it against them.

Pairs gauntlet May 2008 Daemon/Vangli, Roxii/Air, Tony/Ultraman all ran in the pairs gauntlet. Daemon bet a "Greater Hitpoint Lamp." It was a fun gauntlet. Daemon/Vangli jumped out into the lead. But then Daemon missed with his flam strike on the hell nymph, Vangli backstabed it, but it purged Daemon when the nymph was at awful. (in room 3.) So Daemon died, and Vangli took a transfer back out to the start/end room. We waited until a pair got into room 4 (Roxii/Air did) and then I reduced his "greater Hit Point Lamp" down to a Lesser (+1 damage) HP lamp. Roxii/Air were usually in the lead, but Tony/Ultraman actually jumped into the lead in room 6. However in the end Roxii/Air took the win. Each chose the 1st tier Questor's Mana Belt (AC5 +10mana,+5%mana_regen) which makes 30 of those currently in rent in the game. Here follows the rooms. Garnet One (#25091) [ INDOORS !SHSTRM ]

Pairs June 2008 Iron/Junkerii, Babynik/Mahavir, and Wehr/MYC all ran in the pairs. There were two 'bonus mobs' you could skip for speed, or kill for the incentive prizes (each had a ring of focus.) room 2 had Golgar, and room 6 had Major Kyrin. Iron/Junker and Wehr/Myc took off quite fast. Babynik & Mahavir tried to keep up but could not (they did not die until room 7, after they got the incentive rings.) Pairs gauntlet mobs were the same as the solo, so reference that post to know what mobs were. Narr and MYC won and picked mana belts and won jade bracelets that i awarded for finishing with the token from big bird as a bonus mob.RoxII and sherkan finished next and won 2 druid rings, Blix and Armour were next and won necklaces of cloisenne and precious stones. Hopman and Rolland died to the dean of bards as did MrMurdoc.
