Some like it becasue of the high max Damage, dispite the lower average damage. *raises hand* Some like it becasue it's uncommon. Some don't like it at all...
Just interested in oppinions.

Personally i prefer using a taxe , unless of course the gods would like to give anti's a dam bonus when using a talon, similar to that of a paladin using a psword

I'd use the talon over the axe myself. Exact same dice once enchanted but its lighter and has a slightly lower ml of 15 plus its a good weapon to consider blessing as an apal if you plan to stick with it or keep it around. Well unless you can get a +stat talon of course.

The issue being why does talon look like clumps of feces when compared with the lbolt?
Maybe Its just the pic supplied by dank..

I know this board is old and no ones probably even looked at it in a while, but my opinion on the talon is this. Currently its a piece of crap, granted it looks better than Taxe, but why do I want to spend the time it takes to kill pit fiend with either group or squad, enchant it and all that, when its so much easier to just run a taxe with an R29-R30. The two items are so close to being exactly the same its sickening, and even worse one is on a higher end mob where as the other is on a soloable mob. I really believe talon should have better dice than it does and that the pit fiend should be suped up and made !calm. And to make it even harder to attain the talon, you could make a "good" and a "bad" talon, like a couple other items already in game.

Yeah but that might "unbalance" the evil players giving them a proper weapon for the first time in a decade! Think of all the antipaladins and evil warriors running around with their new, buffer talons. It would totally disturb the order of things!

Personally, I prefer using a +3 talon. Like a soft, fuzzy puppy, a +3 talon is a weapon that makes a man more approachable when around the ladies. Jeebus1! Evil warriors need all the help they can get.
1From a false expletive coined on these boards by Farbekrieg.
Example usage:
(1) Jeebus, those are big cans! (2) Jeebus, what are all these flies doing circling my head?

A +3 talon? Oh come now, Dank. If you really wanna show off to the ladies, you absolutely must have a +3 +1cha talon. The average girl doesn't want to shyly touch a man's weapon while its still covered in fiend ichor. The solution? Coat it with coarse gemstones so they'll all want a piece of it.

Instead of a +2 Talon, I think there ought to be a MEGA-constructable that would give similiar averages to the LBOLT. If you think its too powerful then make it an enchantable weapon with BOLT being one of the 5 items needed to construct. That way all your efforts and risk of making a nice evil weapon still only yield only 1/2 a chance (or less if you don't know how mage INT affects enchant weapon). Just a thought!
No wields the Blood-encrusted Talon. No ANNIHILATES Jupiter with his ultimate swipe!!

Just watch, someone will still make it !evil or allow clerics to use it. Or the rules will be changed and 3 of the 5 parts will be quest-only of the CIMP level. I'd sure like to see more constructables period. We have a lot of constructable weapons already but for some mysterious reason they're all weaker than the best in-game ones. Plus evil is long overdue for it's weapon that should be a general equivilent of the lbolt...

so what do you guys think would be stats on a decent evil weapon...i would hate to do like another 7d4 weapon...some ideas however:
7d4 +3 *not as powerful as bolt...but not too shabby*
4d7 +4 *bleh*
9d3 +3 *kinda like rockbreaker without the perma affect*
how about we just break all the rules and with a 8d4 +2??
i am sure these are all too powerful...but what do you guys think would be reasonable for the apals and bad boy warriors to play with....
and what kind of mob should we have to kill to get them? should these be quest items....or like someone said, some big contstructable quest....anyways....let me know what you guys think about this....specially those of you that have baby apals *peer maranta*

Apal/Evil Warriors are stuck with the far weaker weapons for a reason, and in all this time no one upstairs has given them anything bigger than 8d3. The reason? Damned if I or any other mortal knows. So if you can even manage to get 7d4 approved, it'll be made to load on a clone of Onivel who pzars, purges, tosses, areas, is immune to magic, steps forward and drains along with whatever new procs went into the pagoda. If they wanted evil to have a real weapon of their own, we'd have had one LONG ago.

EVIL PCS OUTLAWED AT JEDI
December 16th AP Wire
In a controversial move today, the implementors and admin at one of the oldest and most beloved MUDs (Multi-User Dungeons), JediMUD, have decided to ban evil player characters. Though a popular alignment selected by most text game players, the admin decided that enough was enough, and coded EVIL out of the CIRCLE(II) base.
"Yes, it's unfortunate, but evil is as evil does and has no part here in a text game," explained one administrator that requested anonymity. "Evil must be stopped at all costs. The fact that a Christian Broadcasting Network purchased our server has nothing to do with it."
Once a player reaches an alignment of -351, they are instantly killed, the game providing only the ubiquitous, Welcome to JediMUD!, as consolation.
For some years, evil characters worked with reduced equipment selections and massive restrictions that made their live more difficult than their pious brethren.
"F--- the admin and f--- the pious!" stated infamous evil player character, Alucard. "We'll be back! We'll run secretly in the Jedi class if we have to, but we'll be back. "
Other stunned mudizens expressed outrage for their unfortunate fellows. "What's next?" asked one player, "The neutral player base? I just started using this Golden Death Mask and these Thunderstones. I'm scared, frankly."
Calls to founder and implementor, Jay Levino, went unanswered as of this publication date.

We have another Kingpriest in the making!
Being one of the most outspoken and visible evil players, I can understand why those watching my rise are afraid but this is going too damn far! I WILL NOT be put on the same list as those blasted kender! You will pay for this, every last one of you!

Hey I resent having you on the same list as Kenders, we don't want evil players with the Kender, that could lead to more boredom, which we despise.

Hey I resent having you on the same list as Kenders, we don't want evil players with the Kender, that could lead to more boredom, which we despise. The only thing putting draconians on the same list as kenders will accomplish is give me and my dragonspawned brothers even more pointy ears to keep for trophies, aside from the piles of elf ears we already have. Also will trade my 'Recipe for Roasted Elf Stew with vegetables' for a set of Adamantite Greaves.
