I'm working on a zone called the Seven Cities of Cibola. It will rival Sanctuary for complexity of story line, Ravenna for breadth of mob challenge.

I inherited a zone from a friend who quit the game kicked it around for a year, and then gave it another player and quit the game myself, came back 3 years or so later added a few touches and submitted it, basically it is a war memorial. Sadly I think that the initial premise of the zone was flawed, rather then having avg gold avg xp and avg equipment it was poor XP, poor GOLD, and a metric assload of average equipment, and a brutal test to get to the end of the zone to encounter a tough mob that had 14 different items but each one loading 1% and stop load on success. so a high chance of a single object loading but it being 'very' average and limited to a single class or two. The rooms and mobs are dedicated to the various causes and results of war, and is filled with the heroes and villians that have participated in the wars through the ages. Honestly it was supposed to go off the historys of jedimud but that idea was scrapped when no reasonable hard copy could be found . The zone lends itself to thieves as there are several pickable doors, the keys load but can be problematic getting just the one you want. Right now im awaiting rejection.

How is the Seven Cities of Cibola coming along Dank? Anyone else still building, I'd really like to see some new zones. How many zones are waiting to be play tested?
Is there a play test group?

i dont know about others...but i wrote an Ant Hill zone that is nearing final walk through stages....Grey is helping out because my time is kinda limited *gotta love the army* and i have a hard time meeting up with Ciara to finish checking stuff out...hopefully it will be ready for p-testing soon....
i do have a couple other zones mostly finished....just kinda waiting to get the ants in first then move on to the next project...i am sure there are others that are working on things, just not sure who or what....

I’ve recently written and submitted two zones. One is a 200 room hedge maze I originally wrote (and submitted) back in 2004, which I polished and resubmitted. The other is a 75 room leper colony and insane asylum. Both are midlevel zones. If they load ok, and I figure they probably will/do, then there’s no reason they shouldn’t be in the game already. There isn’t a lot of gold or experience in them, because of their level. The equipment is in line with the difficulty of the mobs in the zones.
I’m working on a third zone right now. Well, I’m mostly trying not to work on it, to be brutally honest. I don’t get replies to my emails. Hopefully that will change at some point. I’m not holding my breath though… people would laugh at me when I pass out. I bet they would draw mustaches on my face with a sharpie while I was unconscious. Anyway, if they’re interested in new zones the first step is replying to emails. It’s frustrating to write an area when simply getting acknowledgement of the receipt for an area proposal takes a month (or more). I’m still waiting to hear back.
I won’t apologize if people choose to take umbrage at the tone of this post. I’m tired of sitting on my hands and waiting. All I want to do is write. It’s a simple enough request. I don’t care if that means taking the world file for Drow and adding a little something to the seven word room descriptions that are the norm for a substantial portion of the zone. Take advantage of this offer to help. You have my address. Give me a task.

To my understanding, Ciara is the only person who is changing the status of new zones from submitted to approved, and a 200 room zone would take quite a bit of time to go through. Confirmation of receiving the zone, having it added to the test port to review, etc. should be done in a timely fashion I agree, but shouldn't there be at least two people doing this, maybe an assistant? The assistant can go through, and do all the lengthly review and time consuming parts, and take any uncertain things in the zone up with Ciara to make the final decision. Of course, this 'assistant' would need to be trained by Ciara, which takes time, and then finding a volunteer to do this... would probably be best if it was someone who has gone through building zones and stepping through it with Ciara already. (Note: if we choose assistants who cannot commit the time etc, Ciara will end up spending time on training instead of working on zones and nothing will ever be approved.)
Well, that just my opinion, but.. I am really glad you guys have submitted some new zones, I am very much looking forward to seeing them when they are finally brought in.

A brief exerpt from the July 28th changes:
Last but not least, Arizhel is taking on new responsibilities as well; she has agreed to assist Ciara with zone proposals and the installation and review of new zones in progress.

What's going on with the projects these people are asking about, Ciara? I'm aware of at least one complete zone that's needed nothing but play testing for months. What's the status of this zone? What else is in the works now that you can't continue saying nobody's submitted zones?
