I'm currently working on a zone for Jedi, and I would like to get some equipment ideas. What slots need filling, where can things be improved? I've already got a couple of things that I think will fit nicely into the game, but I'd like to hear some other opinions on what should be included. My zone theme has something to do with an Indian tribe that lives in a vast plain. I'm not going to tell you any more. So please, give me some suggestions as to what kind of eq you'd like to see.

Change your strategy and you'll be able to generate a lot more ideas. Instead of asking yourself (and us) what the game needs, ask yourself what your mobs would be wearing/carrying/using. Then after you finish describing the objects, give them stats (if they need stats).
To that end, here's a few items that I imagine various mobs from that kind of zone might load:
quiver (full of arrows??) -- container worn about body? poison arrows (wands with one charge of 'poison')? buffalo skin x (where x is an item of clothing) ancestral totems (necklaces/holdables) spears headdresses, masks, warpaint
hope this helps, PC

Hmmm, you've introduced a new perspective into my way of thinking that has the wheels turning. This really does help.... A LOT. I think now this whole concept may be a bit easier to do. I'll have something new for you soon.
Thanks PC

some of the best zones written in jediMUD modern times have been those penned by our dear Step.
steppin mines cultural history and populates his lore with actual as well as allegorical personalities. this is compelling prose, because it allows us to explore a setting that can is both identifiable and rich in contextual possibility.
imagine my delight when running the straight path, encountering Uthman for the first time, the uncle of Mohammad himself! His finely crafted descriptions there are truly inspirational.
ravenna is steppin's crowning achievement, the vast wealth and ultimately fatal predicament of the eastern roman empire delivered at 19kbps!
this kind of contextual zone writing is the best of the industry, if we can call it that, for it delivers a memorable experience, and perhaps stimulates further exploration of the ideas, personalities and culture of those zones outside that of the mud.
the indians of the americas had a vast iconography and a widely variant cultural wealth. don't stop with the plains indians... remember the anasazi, the maya and the proud aztec. there are unexplained mysteries lurking in their ancient tombs that you might exploit to the delight of all!

Straight Path and Ravenna were written by the same guy? Wow.
Those are two totally different zones. One is a straight line and other has bucketloads of mobs running everywhere.

Although I really think you should follow PC's advice in terms of figuring what eq would load on your mobs, I can tell you what there is a shortage of in-game: Stabbing weapons Belts! (My Pally never changes from his olb ever!) a dam belt would be nice.
