As it is the area of the month, I decided to visit the trials. I had never visited the area before, though i had mapped out how to get there. My visit was inspired by the fact the area has approx 100 rooms, based on Tams post to the web page. So anyhow ther I am a lone mage walking in to the area. I was off to a relatively simple to start, then all of a sudden a killer rabbit! I cast disintigrate then I died horribly. For some reason he didnt seem to disolve under a couple disintigrates, as had his predicessors. So away I went for a corpse retrieval. which went well enough. Not one to back out, expecially when it comes to vengance, I decided i should solo onwards so I visited the next room, which was humerous, killed some overactive weight lifters, and then I was at Minos himself. I figured, "Hey I am a mage! I can make a gate and kill him easily", well almost 4 hours of corpse retrieval running later, I finally had my gear back! I am holding on to my platinum ring darnit! Trophy eq is sometimes way cooler than the 'perfect' eq. thanks to coda, who got the kill -Pix

Ouch... Remind me not to attempt to kill Minos anytime soon... He sounds like a bugger.

So regarding the 'zone of the month', who picks these? Is there a way that we can influence the picks? I enjoy hearing more of what people think the zone is 'suppossed' to be, especially if the zone writer puts his own paragraph or 3 in.

Can you influence the pick? No. We'll pick a random zone each month or so.

i thought to myself, "it's the zone of the month, how hard could it be. i mean, would CBS offer citizen kane as the movie of the week? naw, probably more like the sound of music. this should be easy."
so i got my solo'ing gear and launched myself onto the beach. i blinded and poisoned minos like i've done to many big mobbies before. glow up, dam gear switch, buh-bye lizard man.
in a little while, i was dead, staring at the choice screen and wondering if i should really log back in.
the ensuing adventure would claim two more lives, as a small, but desperate group struggled to get their eq back.
much thanks to O, drowloft and saris for their help. i'll never underestimate mahatma again.
i've yet to explore the new zone. if it's anything like the old zone, i'll bring some pals along.

Welp, the original Trial was only 25 rooms. That's what you mainly saw running up to "the big moo". An additional 75 rooms (The Sea of Dreams) were added to that, for the purpose of being a transition zone. (like the desert, Dragon Sea, etc) This would allow the mud to expand westward. *Hint hint hint hint hint -add to this- hint hint hint hint hint* There was a mean "Easter Egg" left out in the sea that you (fortunately) don't just accidently stroll into. You can ask some of the other folks what they have found out there. On a brighter note, it does add to the plotline! -Tam

yeah my naked mage was strolling about in the sea, and met a lovely woman who showed me some cool guards, for about 0.5 seconds.
Welcome to JediMUD!
